Her dissertation focused on whether training providers had an impact on increasing levels of CYP and estimated CPR in the Central Region of Ghana. Findings from Sarah's research are being used to improve programming in family planning throughout the country.
Quality of Diagnosis and Treatment of Uncomplicated Malaria in Dangbe West District, Great Accra Region (274KB PDF) Dr. Mary Amoakoh-Coleman conducted her MPH dissertation research with financial and technical support from QHP. Her dissertation reviewed current clinical practice with regard to treatment of malaria in addition to conducting a retrospective record review and facility audit. Her research offers an in-depth look at District level treatment and management of malaria near Accra.
Assessing Provider Adherence to the National Malaria Control Policy in Assin North District, Central Region (302KB PDF) Adelaide Amoako conducted her MPH dissertation research with financial support and technical assistance from QHP. This dissertation provides valuable insight into compliance with new national standards for the treatment of malaria at the district level in Ghana. It provides analysis on how adherence to the new standards could be improved.
Assessing Facility Readiness of Family Planning Services in Ghana (340KB PDF) Stephanie Hess, an MPH student from Emory University used QHP's Facility Baseline Assessment Dataset to make an assessment of facility readiness for family planning services. This analysis will be used to prioritize facility interventions for the program.
Ensuring quality IUD services is a vital component and foundation of any IUD program. From client screening and counseling to supervision and monitoring and evaluation, this toolkit includes a range of briefs, job aids, tools, and detailed documents to assist program managers and individual providers in implementing or improving IUD services. This report and presentation produced in 2006, provide information on the unmet need for family planning in Ghana and how this need increases the cost of reaching the Millennium Development Goals.
Ghana Child Mortality Analysis (91 KB, PDF File) This presentation developed in 2005, provides an analysis of Ghana Demographic and Health Survey Data related to child mortality using data from the 1988- 2003 DHS reports. It provides an analysis specific to Ghana and also makes comparisons to other sub-Saharan African countries.
