Caroline Grogan is a student in the Master of Science program in Global Health and Population at Harvard School of Public Health. In the summer of 2008 she worked with QHP to evaluate a model of family planning and HIV services integration in use at six hospitals in Ghana. Through key informant interviews with providers and a review and analysis of client records, she assessed a sticker reminder system designed to encourage Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) providers to discuss family planning with their clients.
She also worked with staff at ART clinics to integrate annual TB screening for all HIV+ clients into their provider protocols and data collection systems to increase Ghana's TB case detection rate. For her masters thesis, Caroline is planning to complete a data analysis for a QHP pilot study examining whether free condoms increase self reported rates of condom use in HIV+ clients at several hospitals in Ghana. | |||||
